Under 29 CFR Part 1919 - Gear Certification

OSHA Accreditation Program

OSHA's accreditation program, as put forth in 29 CFR Part 1919 - Gear Certification, is one of an independent third-party providing an impartial inspection of certain maritime cargo handling devices specifically required to be certified under OSHA's maritime safety and health standards. These standards include:

• 29 CFR Part 1915 - Shipyards

• 29 CFR Part 1917 - Marine Terminals

• 29 CFR Part 1918 - Longshoring

Paul E. Serrano, Approved OSHA Surveyor

Paul is a Professional Engineer in five New England States and has provided construction and construction related engineering and inspection services for over 15 years. Paul serves as Roaring Brook's primary point-of-contact for scheduling, performing inspections, and producing Inspection Certification Reports.

Crane Inspection Services

Roaring Brook Consultants provides Crane Inspection Services for the maritime, construction and industrial clients. In addition to our maritime inspections, the regulations of which are stated above, our services include third party periodic and annual inspections for general industry overhead cranes and mobile construction cranes under OSHA Regulations 1910.179 and, 1926.550, respectively. In addition to inspections, we provide Crane Engineering Services that include accident investigations.

OSHA Approved Surveyor Status

In association with The American Test Center of St. Paul, Minnesota, Paul E. Serrano, P.E., of Roaring Brook Consultants, centrally located to New England in South Berwick, Maine, has been granted "Approved Surveyor" status. In this capacity, Paul is authorized to inspect maritime cargo handling devices under OSHA's 29 CFR Part 1919 - Gear Certification.
