ENGINEERING A BETTER FUTURE

Rigging Courses

Roaring Brook Consultants would like to introduce everyone to our Rigging Safety Courses. Started in 2005, the courses are designed for those in the construction industry, including engineers, project managers, site superintendents, safety professionals, and anyone seeking to learn more about rigging safety.

Instructor Stephen M. Perry, Approved OSHA Surveyor, teaches the four hour course through a detailed presentation and videos. Upon completion the participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Topics covered are:

· How to properly use wire rope, chain and synthetic web slings, rigging hardware, and lifting devices

· How to interpret rated capacity charts for wire rope slings and rigging hard ware

· The three methods for calculating sling loading

· Safe rigging practices and procedures

· Hand signals and the responsibilities of signal people

· Procedures for working cranes safely in the vicinity of power lines

This year we have three courses scheduled. In Summer 2006, in Manchester, NH; in Fall 2006, in West Palm Beach, FL; and in Winter 2006, in Portland, ME. Please look for our mailings prior to each course for complete course and enrollment information, or feel free to contact us at any time for more information, availability, and prices.

If you would be interested in hosting a course at your company's site, we can tailor the topics and length of the course to fit your company's needs.

We look forward to seeing you in one of the courses!
